Programming
🏢 Dealer RequiredProgramming typically requires a compatible diagnostic/programming tool and security access to add keys to the vehicle’s immobilizer system. Many owners cannot fully program a new transponder key with simple button sequences. The mechanical blade also must be cut to match the door/ignition. If all keys are lost, the vehicle may require additional steps (and towing in some cases) to complete security programming.
⚠️ Common Issues
- Weak or depleted CR2032 battery causing reduced range or intermittent operation
- Replacement fob purchased with mismatched frequency/FCC ID/part number that will not program
- Flip blade or pivot wear leading to a loose or stuck key blade
