Programming
🏢 Dealer RequiredProgramming typically requires an OBD-based security/immobilizer pairing procedure using GM-compatible diagnostic equipment and security access. Many vehicles require all keys present during programming, and some replacement fobs must be new (not previously paired) to be accepted. Consumers generally find that proof of ownership is required by dealers and reputable locksmiths.
⚠️ Common Issues
- Wrong FCC ID/frequency or incompatible fob version causing programming failure
- Used/refurbished fobs that cannot be re-learned to the vehicle
- Intermittent passive entry or reduced range due to a weak CR2032 battery or RF interference
